When I was a teenager, my older brother took me to see Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and when we got home, he mentioned how he didn’t like the Starfleet uniforms for the film (the now-famous Monster Maroons) because they were too militaristic, but he’d also disliked the uniforms in Star Trek: The Motion Picture because everyone looked like they were wearing pajamas. That started my young brain down the rabbit hole of designing my own uniforms, only instead of making them Starfleet uniforms, I created the Starmada. I still redesign those uniforms from time to time, and this is the latest iteration (and probably won’t be the last).
